Who is Emir Sanusi Asking To Buy A Brain?

Emir Sanusi, i hail o. My readers, i salute o. I had avoided posting any news on the Sanusi childnotbride saga. That changed when i saw the letter he wrote to a select few where he said,

"I obviously cannot stoop to the level of responding publicly to these kinds of articles."

Emir Sanusi clearly indicated here that he is not responding publicly, yet he went on to advise his "private" audience in a very interesting way saying, 

" The mother of your children has to be something other than, not at least much more than a mere object of sexual fantasy. But if you do not know that you need to buy yourself a brain." 

"Again if you understand this this is fine. If you do not, buy yourself a brain, A la Pius."

If this message is to the NC members as stated, could he be asking some of the members to buy themselves a brain?

Or does he really care what the average Nigerian thinks but find it hard to get of the high horse hence the need to get this message out without appearing like an emir was explaining himself to the people?

Whatever the truth may be, those comments from the Emir sha!

Jagaban Vs Saraki(Ep 7) The Faulty Saraki Speech

Saraki proved today that the senate is his territory as he was able to get some "paid" supporters to carry placards outside the senate asking that he remains the senate president. Ogbeni Saraki also gave a speech at the senate after which he got a vote of confidence from his fellow senators. 

Find below the part of his speech which i find to be a lie. This is the same reason why he believes his fellow senators should not impeach him. 

"But what is clear to me also, is that the laws of Nigeria, and the rules of the National Assembly give consideration only to the wishes and desires of those of you who are here today as members of the Senate, to elect as you wish, one of your peers as President of the Senate. This, in your wisdom, is what you have done by electing me to be the first among all of you who are my equals." -  BUKOLA SARAKI

Mr Saraki, you were voted in by just over half of the senate. You cheated your peers who you now plead with their right to vote you or not. Your election was a sham, a scam and you got to the seat with treachery. The wishes and desires of your party senators was to be at a meeting with President Buhari before the election proceeds later on the same day. You cheated them of it Ogbeni Saraki. So you reap what you sow. Enjoy your short term victory.

Men and The Beards Trend a.k.a Role Swap

If you are a Nigerian staying in any of the major cities, then i take it you must have noticed that many men now find it trendy to keep their beards. Infact i am certain you know one or more men who have full grown beard complimented with a BALD head.

For the purpose of this article, i will label this trend "the role swap". Why so you may ask? The head is the part of a man's body that normally grows much hair while we shave some or all of the hair in the jaw/cheek region. Now that the head is shaved bald while the beards are grown full, it is an obvious case of role swapping. Abi no be so?

The role swap started with celeb rappers like Rick Ross leading the pack. today, legendar Uncle Mavin Sapp dots a huge beard i never thought i could see on a pastor/artiste of his kind. Now it has not only become very acceptable, it is trendy thing to do for naija men and . Any wedding, church or mall you go, you must find the role swappers with their swag. Taking one step at a time like hair from the beards would drop if they walk too fast. On their faces, the pride of achieving the impossible. In their minds singing, "don't you wish your boyfriend had beards like me". Rapper 2shot actually went on to tweet this a while back. He told his female followers he is certain they wish their men had beards like him. For his mind, eh?

This is the predicament parents of Ashanbi, a 15 year old teenager found themselves after her angry mother poured hot water on a tanker driver she was dating.

Some things that happen on this our stage called Nigeria would have been termed a figment of some prolific writer's imagination. However when you begin to hear names, time, location and reports from first hand witnesses, you marvel at how humans act without reason.

So a tanker driver was dating her teenage daughter and the best she could do was attack him with "intent to cause bodily harm"? The randy driver now has a solid case against her when she could have been the one suing the idiot for dating an underaged girl.

Here is what transpired.

According to the driver Alumomo, he went to visit his girlfriend, Ashanbi, at their Oyegunle Street residence.  “As I was waiting for Ashanbi to come out, her mother rushed out with hot water and poured it on me. The hot water affected my jaw, down to my private part.”

The driver is presently threatening the parents of the girl they either allow him marry her in compensation for his pain or let the law take its course.

Indeed there are so many Yerima wanna-bes lurking around seeking whom to devour. Parents, be wise. This mother was not wise and I pray she gets a good lawyer to nail the dangerous driver.

Lanre Makun is brother to Ayo Makun the comedian known as AY. I guess last weekend is one to remember for the Makuns as Lanre got married in Nigeria while AY's movie, 30 days in Atlanta got an award at the AMAAs.

Lanre Makun must have had some experience saving lives with the kiss as a paramedic or beach life saver. This is judging by the way he did justice to his wife above.

Between My Elementary 4 School Experience and My Son's

I am putting up this post with the hope that my dear readers will not laugh at me...choi. I have a son in elementary 4 and when i compare his present experiences to mine as a primary 4 pupil, i am amazed at how so much has changed. Here is a list of a few differences in how he is rolling in 2015 and how i rolled as a primary 4 student in the 80s.

1. He is taking subjects i never knew about at his age and class. He has so many books and subjects which i only started experiencing much later in secondary school. Then we wonder why they ae learning and growing so fast. We are teaching them fast.

2. At primary 4, i walked to and from my school with my brother. We drive them to and from school daily. Infact, they have had very little experience of walking on the road side.

3. When i was in primary 4, K was for kobo. Now it is for 1000 naira. My parents would give me 50 kobo for food and fruits at the school's cafeteria. All i took was an empty plate to buy the food. My son leaves home daily with food, fruits, snack and juice packed in his lunch bag.

4. My elementary 4 son operates computers, smart phones, games and more like a pro. At his age and class, i was doing record players and i had spoilt my dad's 4th TV and still counting.

5. This one is common to most of us in those days. I went to a school with over 15 buildings but just 2 buildings(staff building and a 2 storey building) had windows and doors. All the other classes were famous "Jakande" buildings with its signature blocks and roofings only. My son however enjoys an air conditioned class with state of the arts computer classes.

6. My class used to close at 1pm in primary 4. Even that was a harrowing long journey most days. My son closes at 3:30pm daily. My secondary school which was military closed at 2 p.m.

Harvester Intl Christian Center Fixing Bad Roads in Host Community

Harvesters International Christian Center with headquarters in Gbagada is known for the way it seeks to impact millions positively.

Led by young and God loving Pastor Bolaji Idowu, Harvesters always lends its voice and action to making the society better in various ways. Most recent is their #itsnotokay campaign which speaks and act against rape, hunger and terrorrism.

Members of the church were seen today fixing roads and pot holes in their host community, Gbagada. Keep it up Harvesters. You are making christians real proud with your actions. We hope more churches can see this and follow the example. #itsnotokay we have to wait for Ambode and Buhari to award contracts before we fix things in our area of influence.

Protek's "Amen" Versus Burna Boy's "Run my Race"

I cannot lie, i like Burna boy's "run my race". As in eh...mo ko je bi indomie( i swallow it like indomie). Especially the parts where he sang "Now you dey form Robocop and Daddy, daddy ko wo wo le." So when i heard a video playing on video this morning with the instrumentals, i was so eager to watch the video as i strolled into the sitting room. I was dissppointed but albeit temporarily. The video was not for "run my race". It turned out to be another song entirely titled "Amen" by a gospel rapper named protek.

Did Protek deliver on this song after lifting Burna's beat? He killed it. Bobo yen blew me away. A remix of "run my race" feat protek would be in right order. The video featured  cameo appearances by Socleva, Koffi and others. It's been so long i saw a gospel rap video so on point, message of the song was very clear and undiluted. I am hopefully talented artistes like Protek will begin to get the dues they deserve.

Jagaban Vs Saraki(Ep 6) Aim For TheThrone

The anti saraki group in the Senate are presently turning up the heat with the intention to win more senators to their side as part of the impeachment moves against Saraki.

Since they could not keep him behind bars as intended when CCB granted Saraki bail, the group consisting mainly of Lawan supporters have started a war of morality as to whether Saraki should still maintain such a seat when he is being tried as a law maker.

WHAT DOESN’T KILL YOU MAKES YOU STRONGER

18 years ago, I had an accident. If it was an action film, the incident could have passed for a scene from a James Bond flick with squelching tyres, glass shattering, cars ramming into each other and bodies flying about the whole place.

Well, that’s exactly how it happened except that rather than stuntmen, I was driving the car that ran into an 18-wheel trailer loaded with cement. Tyres screeched, people shouted, glass shattered and at the end of the scene, my body lay over the glassy shards, paralyzed from waist down. Just a few minutes before the accident, I was a giddy 18-year-old freshman studying Dramatic Arts with clear prospects; tall, dark and vainly handsome. I could dance, run, jump and trek really long distances.

But in an instant, everything changed.I became the guy who spent the next 5 months, immobilized on a hospital bed, staring at the ceiling; the guy who could not piss or poo without assistance; the dude who could not sit, stand or walk. But that was just one side of the story.Because spending that much time in one position forced me to see the world differently. First it was denial but once I embraced it, everything changed.I realized that my case, though dire, wasn’t the worst.

Top 5 Naija Artistes Who Can't Sing Live

Drama......everyday, all day in my home country Naija. And that's what we deliver for your entertainment and information on this blog.

If you are a follower of Naija music, you will know most of the music artistes depend so much on the producer/mixing engineer to make them sound good. All you need to is go to a show headlined by some of the major celebs and you will see lip syncing and off key shouting at its worst. Yet my people pay in the thousands and millions to attend such mediocre shows. Gospel artistes tend to be more professional at their shows and with better voices though.

Why we are so blinded to this unprofessional act and rip off from naija artistes is a gist for another day. Today, i present to you top 5 Nigerian artistes that can only lip sync at shows or make noise on top of the played studio production.

1. Kcee- If you don't believe me, go and hear him in the african artistes version of "we are the world". From okpekete to limpopo and hakuna matata , Kcee seems to have discovered a pattern for naming his songs which attracts the average music lover. And of course, he has money to pay the best producers for a voice lift. Hearing him live on stage however is another "matata".

2. Mo cheddah-  This lady sings through her nose and from her throat. She sounds flat even with all the studio effects and very fond of singing in low keys which i believe works for her. Mo cheddah would do a lot better with voice training from the likes of Naomi classik.

3. Davido- This one is either drunk, shouting or jumping from rod to pole at his shows. A good composer if he is the one that writes his songs but the voice just does not cut when performing live.

Vids Don't Lie- Watch Shouts of "Ole" On Saraki At Prayer Ground

Saraki was disgraced at the Muslim Prayer ground in Ilorin today. However, Saraki had earlier denied that he was stoned and it was only the figment of the enemy's imagination.

Incase you missed it, Saraki and others had arrived the prayer ground when shouts of “Ole! Ole!! Ole!!!(Thief! Thief! Thief!) began. Others were shouting “Ebi n pa wa!” “Ebi yii ti to Saraki!” (We are hungry, Enough of this hunger Saraki).”

Since Saraki and his publicity team have denied the reports, Stagethem blog is putting up a video obviously recorded by someone in the crowd.

Deeper life church known for its embrace of christian values and spiritual depth usually avoids any kind of lifestyle or culture that signifies worldliness. That was the deeper life we grew to know. So when Frank Edwards tweeted that he sang at the church, i was deeply inclined to deep into the depth of the news.

Who Ate The Ram Sacrificed By Abraham?

It is the muslim festival season again and this particular one is in remembrance of Abraham's(Ibraheem) faiithfulness and willingness to sacrifice his ONLY son to God. It was a test by God to know if Abraham will believe to the end that which was promised him. Abraham passed and so much including the sacrifice of Jesus Christ is connected to that one man's faith. (singing)father Abraham has many sons, many sons has father Abraham.......

At the last moment of slaughtering the boy Isaac, God stopped Abraham and provided a ram as a replacement sacrifice. This is the reason behind Eid el Kabir as it is called by Muslim faithfuls. It is a time when muslims worldwide kill millions of rams just like Abraham did.

Now the only difference is, the bible or quran never mention Abraham, Isaac and the slave with them ate of the ram. Neither was ir recorded they took some raw meat home with them. It was a sacrifice to God. Left on the altar for him. Am i wrong or right?

But as it is practiced worldwide now especially here in my fatherland a.k.a Naija! No be so at all. Men look for the juiciest of rams during purchase. This is done in anticipation of the delicacy when fried, smoked, boiled or stewed. As a matter of fact, the altar of sacrifice is normally within the compound surrounded by friends and family who are busy making their choice of raw parts. 

As i anticipate my share of the delicacy from my muslim neighbours (whom i pray do not get to see this post), i wish you all happy holidays and God bless Nigeria.

Halt Omoni Oboli! Which One Be This Obama/Michelle Nollywood Film ke?

Nollywood. Nollywood. Nollywood. Omoni. Omoni. Omoni. How many times did i call you? We have come too far for this now. We have metamorphosed way beyond this kind of complex joor.

The First Lady! How? Where? Why? What part of the story line relates to this choice of movie title and cast names. Must you use every opportunity to warm up to powers that be? Is Omoni expecting a White House phone call requesting a premiere with the Obamas? Or why not Buhari and Aisha? 

Dear Nollywood. Must you copy in very irritating ways? Coming from someone who has earned some level of recognition in the industry, you no try at all Omoni Oboli. Not every one is a suppy as a one time presido na. When Obama is busy dealing with ISIS issues.

The annoying part is this movie has no semblance to the real obama and michelle. The movie is about a pimp and his girl. No connection with politics or goverment. This is a very poor choice of title in my opinion. 

I will be at the premiere and hope the story line, acting and production will make up for the mediocrity in titling and cast names. 

What language should i laugh in now?

Former "First Man" GEJ Welcomes "First Grandchild" Of His Household

Former president GEJ became a grandpa today when his daughter put to bed a baby girl in the "United states of America". 

Why on earth his daughter Faith did not deliver the baby in Otuoke or Akpabio's world class hospital eludes me. I thought GEJ claims to have made Nigeria the top world economy. Why run off to America for child delivery. Citizenship things? I hope not cause i would expect that with all the cash stashed away, the grand children can travel the world anytime any day.

If only this baby came few months earlier. That is eh....she would have been the first grandchild of Nigeria. Well, all is not lost. She can cope with the wealth acquired by Grandpa for her future as consolation prize.

The federal government has declared the former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory and incumbent governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Naisr El-Rufai as one of those who will testify against Mr Bukola Saraki in the process of "nailing" him in the ongoing trial. I never want to be in the black book of these short man who showed Abuja cartels how to organize a city.

El-Rufai claims he sold one of the assets that Saraki bought in Abuja, which was not included among the assets belonging to him. The prosecution has already furnished Saraki with the proof of evidence against him. Some of the exhibits include four different assets declaration forms the accused persons submitted to the CCB. “We have gathered enough evidence to prove that the defendant made anticipatory assets declaration”, Rotimi boasted.

All Star Drama At Wilson Joel's Birthday Bash

So it was another birthday for the CEO of doxology music and House on the Rock music guru, Wilson Joel. Little did he know it would be a birthday to remember for a long time to come. It was supposed to be a small turn-up gig with a few friends but the party went all star with enuf party rice downed by dem choir peeps..."dozens" of rice in Wilson's own words. Jagaban Vs Saraki (Ep 4) Awon Goons Mi- Saribaba feat 50 Thieves

In a show of support for their colleague and fellow senator, about 50 senators and some members of the House of Representatives followed Bukola Saraki to the code of conduct tribunal today.

Where are these senators when Boko Haram was bombing their constituency? Where were they when bad roads and armed robbers took the lives of their constituents? Maiduguri just got taken with multiple bomb blasts and scores dead. the senators did not show any support or turn up at the military base in maiduguri. But here they are in show of solidarity with one under trail for corruption. Corruption, a scourge we hope to destroy before it destroys our nation and our lawmakers are publicly romancing with it. O Nigerian lawmakers, you remind me of the senators in the old roman empire. You only care for yourselves, your throat and your bloodline. But remember, a new emperor is in town. And he will not make the mistakes Julius Caesar made. His name is Mohammad Buhari. Democratically elected but stern and firm enough to make sure due process of law is allowed to take its course.

The Senate President and his supporters first converged on the National Assembly early on Tuesday morning from where they took off in a convoy of buses for the tribunal. Security men attached to the presidential villa had earlier stopped Mr Saraki aka Saribaba (permission...Alibaba) from using an access gate to the presidential villa.

The trial commenced on a dramatic note when the accused person refused to mount the dock. However Saraki’s has been docked and as the tribunal Chairman, Justice Umar, demanded that he should leave his seat and enter inside the dock. The Senate President who was sandwiched by his colleagues and friends inside the court at first called the bluff of the tribunal by retaining his seat.

“Where is the prosecution, is the accused person here?”, Justice Umar queried. “My lord I cannot see him. I think the first thing is for him to enter the dock , then we will announce our appearances. After which the charge will be read to him”, the prosecuting counsel, Mr. Rotimi Jacobs submitted.
