You: I love her, but...
Me: Wow, you finally found "the one". I know how long you've been looking. So, what's the "but"?
You: She doesn't like cooking.
Me: Okay...let me get this straight. All her anatomical parts are working, she makes you deliriously happy, she has integrity & character and you're incredibly attracted to and in love with her. But, she doesn't like cooking. What exactly is the problem?
You: But, how will we eat na?
Me: How were you eating before?
You: *Silence*
What would you do? Go right ahead with the courtship and marriage?

I
once attended a birthday party, and the food was really good, I told
the celebrant how good the food was and she told me her younger sister
did all the cooking. Incidentally, the lady in question was just
standing by and I had the conversation with her:
Me: Hi there, nice to meet you. What an amazing cook you are!
Lady: Oh thanks, I just love to cook, and nice to meet you too.
Me: Wow! Your husband is a lucky man! He gets the best food at home!
(Lady's countenance changes, she gets angry)
Lady: Why do men always want to define my ability to be a good wife by my ability to cook well? So if I couldn't cook, that reduces my ability to be a good wife?

Lady: Why do men always want to define my ability to be a good wife by my ability to cook well? So if I couldn't cook, that reduces my ability to be a good wife?
Lady: So if I couldn't cook, he could hire a cook, that means I'm not a good wife? A wife should be more than a cook!
Me: Well, I didn't a wife was a cook, I said a wife should be able to cook. What in your opinion are the duties of a wife then?
Lady:A wife is a companion.
Me: Well, just like I can pay for a cook, I can pay to have a companion too!
Lady: A wife is a friend...
Me: Oh please, I have enough friends, both men and women....
Lady: A wife is a mother, who raises your children...
Me: The children she won't cook for? I might as well hire a nanny then!
Lady: A wife is a lover, a passionate lover
Me: Well.....literally...you know I could pay to have a lover too! So essentially, what couldn't I pay for? What do we need marriage for then?
Lady: Whatever nigga.... (walks away really angry...and I wonder how a compliment about a lady's cooking turned into a sour debate...)
